Reminds me of Freshman Intro to Engineering way back when. Things to remember 1: Your model is wrong 2: Your diagram is backwards 3: Your mechanism is missing key points 4: No, it is not strong enough. 5: You are an idiot. (5 is only partially true, Freshmen are usually young and inexperienced which makes them dumb asses until they admit that Murphy's Law never fails, so they must learn to be an engineer that expects mistakes and failures, so plan margins for unnoticed errors accordingly. Murphy will find them for you. Except for the first and last., all of these are true until proven otherwise. Your model may be good enough, but it is not perfect, and you are still fallible. Especially when you you cannot or will not believe these things about we humans, so get out now before you get someone killed. That last point applies in spades to scientists when their predictions and measurements are not publicly tested by others. Engineers failures are seen whether they like it or not. Scientific discoveries are for all of us, admitting when your model is wrong, another "idiotic" stab at the truth, is how science and engineering proceed. Lives depend on both professions being ruthlessly honest. E.g. Clearly the so called scientists promoting AGW are not honest with themselves.
